Moogoo made this moisturiser after getting a lot of requests from our customers and stockists to add a light(er)weight formula to our moisturiser range. This classic Skin Milk Udder Cream has generally been their suggestion for those looking for an all-round restorative cream, but it seems that there are many people that prefer something even lighter, particularly when dealing with thin, very sensitive or damaged skin. Heavier creams are great to deeply nourish, nurture and protect dry skin, but they can also take a little longer to apply, especially all over the body on a regular basis. Since Moogoo make their products for their customers, we were happy to take on the task of creating a lighter formula, and they’re pleased to introduce to you the time-saving lotion they wish they had made years ago.

But don’t be fooled into thinking that lighter means less because this lightweight is no lightweight! Made with their favourite, moisturising oils that skin slurps up, and they didn’t skimp on the skin-soothing ingredients either, making sure to include as much Aloe Vera and German Chamomile as they could to help keep skin cool, calm and collected. And to top it off, they made it subtly smells like a delicious dessert, but they don’t recommend eating it – but if you did, it’s A-OK as they only use natural and edible ingredients in all of our formulas.

We think we look better with a bit of colour and like to maintain a healthy glow all year round, without the sun damage. A few of us here at MooGoo like using self-tanning creams, but we got tired of the orange colour many of them leave, as well as the smell. That’s why we set out to make this product, so we would have something that was genuinely natural, effective and moisturising.

We use our favourite moisturising oils as the base for this cream to make it very hydrating, extending the life of your tan. Then we added in two natural self-tanning ingredients. The first is Dihydroxyacetone (DHA) which can come from a variety of sources, but we are using a Canola-based source. Secondly, in order to get the right colour tone, especially for pinkish complexions, we added Erythrulose, which as the name suggest is a sugar-based tanning ingredient.

And finally, we also added purified ECGC (Green Tea Extract) which is a natural, powerful antioxidant compound. We use the purified Green Tea Extract which is 90% concentrated and is actually a white powder. If you would like to know why we add EGCG, we suggest that you use the Google and search “Topical EGCG Anti-Ageing” to see some studies on its amazing effects.

Tip: Apply this cream daily to gradually build up the tan colour until desired results are achieved. For best results, exfoliate prior to application and wait a few minutes before dressing. Make sure to wash your hands well after application as tanned palms can look a bit strange.

Because we like things au natural, we made our dry shampoo powder formula with a blend of food-based powders and made them extra fine to work better at absorbing oils. Many of us at MooGoo HQ are avid dry shampoo users so we love it, if you ask us, this is the best dry shampoo ever but we’re probably biased. But we’re particularly (that is a pun that may dawn on you later) concerned when using the aerosol spray-on types. Any fine aerosol particles (ta-da!) entering the lungs isn’t healthy over time, so spraying them around the head and face is something we’re not cool with. Aerosol ingredients typically contain volatile hydrocarbons, such as propane, n-butane and isobutene, dimethyl ether (DME), methyl ethyl ether and a whole bunch of other big words we don’t like. These aerosols can coat the scalp causing irritation and itchiness. No one likes an itchy head.

We also use a mix of natural skin conditioning ingredients. We don’t use any essential oils that can also trigger reactions, but instead, a blend of Vanilla with the allergy-triggering compounds removed. Because it’s so gentle it’s also a no-tears formulation in children’s eyes. The ones that make big bubbles can be particularly drying, but every parent knows, BABIES NEED BUBBLES! The biggest bubbles in town are made by Sodium Laureth Sulphate.

We take a different approach. We combine small amounts of 5 different natural cleaners as this can be milder on the skin than one concentrated cleanser. We chose natural cleansers that bubbled fairly well, although the bubbles don’t last quite as long as the ones that come from SLS. To keep the bubble action going, every now and then the water can be mixed up again to rebuild the bubbles. Now all that splashing around is going to good use.

We also added in some super soothing ingredients like Colloidal Rice Bran. Overall we think this is the best bubbly formula that could be made for babies (we know quite a few adults that love it too) and will leave your baby as soft as a baby’s…well you know.
